In 1990's when Mr. Jain set-up his factory in Kundli, Haryana, then there was no other big factory in that area. Since beginning, he put special efforts for women empowerment and given preference for recruitment of women employees. However, there was unusual resistance in the local area and most of the people were reluctant to send their daughters, sisters or wife for working in the factory because of their fear for safety of women and social atmosphere, which was not easily accepting the working of women in factory. Initially, very few women joined and they were dropped and picked by their family members only. It was an unusual situation and Mr. Jain took it very seriously. To address this situation and to increase the social acceptance for working of women in factories, he provided bus facility for pick and drop of the women employees. He put a training system inside the factory, for their skill development and gave them preference in assembly line and other processes, provided them canteen facility and applied a uniform code. These steps did miracle in the ambience of local area and local people took it very positively about the security, safety and self-reliance of women. Women started coming and going alone without any family member's company, more and more women started joining the Company and this brought a revolutionary change in the area regarding women's ambitions to become self-reliant.
Within a few years of initiatives of Mr. Jain, there was tremendous change in social atmosphere in the area, as thinking of families and local people changed towards women employment and education. People not only started sending their female family member for employment in factories, but become more vigilant and aware about providing them job oriented vocational education and training. This impact continued for generations in that area and contributed significantly for women equality and empowerment.
